Enabling new services and communication pathways in healthcare

Calico Jack is providing core technologies based on its patented Jackdaw platform for an evolving health-care project designed to enable patient centric communication pathways to traditionally ‘hard to reach’ sections of the patient demographic.

The project is currently in succesful live-trials of an appointment making and reminding subsystem using SMS between patient’s mobile phones and clinical systems. This trial is designed with a view to engaging a difficult target demographic within the health system, while at the same time reducing the incidence of DNA (’Did Not Attend’) occurences in clinical appointments. DNAs are known to cost the NHS significant amounts of both time and money each year.

Upcoming additions in the pipeline include mobile queries to GPs for medical advice, and on-the-fly construction, comparison and exchange of clinical summaries of electronic health records.
