Calico Jack Appoints New Chairman
February 21st, 2003 Posted in Press Releases |Scottish technology entrepreneur, David Farquhar has been appointed non-executive chairman of Calico Jack, a start-up company specialising in the design and development of multi-agent platform technology for mobile and wireless networks.
David, who joined Calico Jack in January 2003, is helping to develop the company’s sales and marketing strategy as well as building the company’s brand awareness and extending Calico Jacks network of partners. Commenting on his new position, David said: “Calico Jack’s multi-agent platform is a key element in the global move to bring wireless mobile and fixed systems together to create a pervasive computing model. The platform is applicable in a range of markets from highly complex and dynamic logistics management to entertainment, and it is this huge potential which I find tremendously exciting.”
Calico Jack, which has just signed a £250,000 contract deal with Orange to create new technology for next generation phones, is based in Dundee and was set up in 2002 by Paul Sergeant, Chris Reed and Ian Ricketts.
